Instrumental trio Port Mone is called one of the most original collectives on the alternative scene oт post-Soviet space. They compose emotional music, in which echoes of classical works, folk and post-rock can be heard. In reviews of the concerts of these Belarusians you can read the phrases „acoustic ambient“, „avant-garde instrumental music“ and „modern classics“, but none of the definitions characterize the style of Minsk-based trio.
For the previous album of the trio, Thou, the musicians abandoned the laboratory conditions of the studio and recorded all the compositions in the old forest near Minsk. British newspaper The Guardian wrote about Thou: „Port Mone are an instrumental trio who have forged their own voice from a mix of influences, including jazz, minimalism and ambient music. They are still developing in this new direction and are popular among music lovers from both the east and west…”
Musicians have just finished the new album as part of a joint eco-art project: the music was recorded from windmills and solar panels to draw attention to the development of renewable energy in Belarus
